Hawaiʻi SATEP
A Hawaiʻi State Approved Teacher Education Program (SATEP) is an HTSB-approved program based on the Hawaii Revised Statutes, Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR), and board policies.
In Hawaiʻi, the 14 SATEPs are designed to:
- prepare and educate teacher candidates in basic skills, content knowledge in specific teaching field and grade level through its implementation of their board-approved program;
- provide a quality clinical experience;
- maintain national program accreditation; and
- abide by federal policies and state-level policies, and
- participate in the Teacher Education Coordinating Committee.
